From August 21 to 30, 2019, the delegation of Xinzhou Municipal People’s Government led by Mr. Wu Xiantang, Vice Mayor of Xinzhou City, paid a friendly visit to Russia, Ukraine and Croatia.

While staying in Russia, the delegation paid a visit to the Kolomna Municipal People’s Government. During the meeting with Mayor Jaynes Gurevich, Mr. Wu Xiantang pointed out that Xinzhou City, which enjoys rich natural resources, obvious geographical advantages and profound cultural heritage, would like to establish sister-city relationship with Kolomna City to carry out friendly cooperation and frequent exchange in relevant sectors. Mr. Jaynes Gurevich said that, Kolomna City boasts a long history, the both cities can draw experience from each other in agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism and other industries, and hoped that the both cities could keep in touch, strengthen cooperation and achieve win-win results. Later, the two parties signed a memorandum for the establishment of sister-city relationship. During the visit, the delegation had a deep understanding of the urban infrastructure construction in Kolomna City, and visited the municipal exhibition hall and other places.

While staying in Ukraine, the delegation paid a visit to the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine and the Uzhgorod Municipal People’s Government in succession. At the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, the delegation held a talk with Mr. Ruslan Osypenko, independent members of the Supervisory Committee of Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (UBRR), Executive Director of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine and the principals of relevant departments of the Kyiv Municipal People’s Government. Mr. Wu Xiantang hoped that the Chinese Chamber of Commerce  in Ukraine could give full play to its advantages of wide contacts and information channels, and establish a strongly cooperative bond with Xinzhou City to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results. At the Uzhgorod Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Wu Xiantang met with Mayor Bogdan Andreev and the principals of relevant departments, and sincerely invited the delegation of Uzhgorod Municipal People’s Government to visit Xinzhou City. During the visit, the delegation inspected the city’s urban construction.

While staying in Croatia, the delegation had a discussion with the Vice Mayor of Varazdin City and the principals of relevant departments. At the moment, Mr. Wu Xiantang gave an introduction. The Vice Mayor of Varazdin City hoped that the both cities could establish industrial cooperation and pragmatic exchanges to jointly promote the development of both cities. After the meeting, the both cities signed a memorandum for the establishment of sister-city relationship.
During the visits, the delegation also got an in-depth understanding of the urban planning and management, land development and utilization, infrastructure investment and financing of the cities mentioned above.
